The story behind

El blues de lo que pasa en mi escalera, according to DoReSol

The song El blues de lo que pasa en mi escalera, with its 4 minutes and 44 seconds of duration, immerses us in a narrative that, while belonging to the album Esta boca es mía by Joaquín Sabina, released in 1994, stands out for its particular atmosphere. This record, released two years after Física y química, did not achieve the same commercial resonance as its predecessor, but it did sell well and generated themes that received positive comments, showcasing a Sabina at a moment of personal and professional maturity. The challenge was to create an album worthy of the occasion, and to do so, the singer-songwriter once again relied on his usual collaborators, Pancho Varona and Antonio García de Diego, who handled most of the arrangements.

Joaquín Ramón Martínez Sabina, born in Úbeda, Jaén, in 1949, is an artist with a well-established career in the Spanish-speaking world. Throughout his career, he has released fourteen studio albums, four live recordings, and three compilations, in addition to collaborating with other musicians in duets and projects. His compositional skill extends to writing songs for artists such as Ana Belén or Miguel Ríos. His live performances include recordings like La mandrágora (1981), alongside Javier Krahe and Alberto Pérez; Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa en directo (1986) with the band Viceversa; Nos sobran los motivos (2000); Dos pájaros de un tiro (2007); and La orquesta del Titanic (2012), in collaboration with Joan Manuel Serrat. In the literary field, he has co-authored nine books with collections of his lyrics and poems, some of which were previously published in the magazine Interviú. A significant event in his life occurred in 2001, when he suffered a mild stroke that, after a recovery without physical sequelae, impacted his perspective and led him into a period of depression and temporary retirement from the stage. After overcoming this stage, he released Dímelo en la calle (2002) and later Alivio de luto (2005). His latest solo album to date is Vinagre y rosas, published in 2009, which achieved notable sales figures in its first month.
