The story behind
Disperato erotico stomp, according to DoReSol
The rhythm of Disperato erotico stomp is built on a foundation of two major chords, separated by a fifth, and unfolds with the agility characteristic of the jazz style known as *stomp*. This piece, released by Lucio Dalla in 1977, is part of his album Come è profondo il mare. The artist himself considered the lyrics, laden with irreverent and bold tones, to have an autobiographical character. It recounts the experience of being abandoned by his partner, who leaves with another woman, and the peculiar events that unfold over a night in Bologna. Among the encounters described are a progressive-ideology prostitute and a lost German traveler. The day concludes in solitude, with an intimate reflection. The author conceived these lyrics as a response to certain moralistic attitudes prevalent in the left of the time.
This track, lasting 5 minutes and 48 seconds, was later reincorporated into the 1996 album Canzoni, appearing as a hidden track. Additionally, the energy of Disperato erotico stomp was adopted by the group Articolo 31 for their song L'impresa eccezionale, included in the album Così com'è, also from 1996. The album Come è profondo il mare marked a milestone in Lucio Dalla's career, being the first where he himself handled both musical composition and lyric writing, thus beginning his era as a singer-songwriter. The production of this work, released by RCA Italiana, was overseen by Alessandro Colombini and Renzo Cremonini, with recordings taking place at the RCA studios in Rome, with Maurizio Montanesi as sound engineer, and at the Stone Castle Studios in Carimate, with Ezio De Rosa at the console.
