The story behind

When you dive into the recording of Dearest, you encounter a piece that, while part of the album Trafalgar, has its own atmosphere. This album, released in 1971, marked an interesting moment for the Bee Gees. While in the United States it had a decent reception, reaching number 34, and from it spawned the hit single How Can You Mend a Broken Heart? which reached number 1, in the United Kingdom the record did not have the same impact. Despite this, Trafalgar was recognized years later, included in the list of 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die.

The Bee Gees, a group formed in 1958, was composed of brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb. Their sound was characterized by three-part vocal harmonies, something that made them immediately recognizable. Robin's distinctive vibrato was a hallmark of their early hits, while Barry's falsetto would become his sonic signature later on. The brothers not only wrote their own songs but also composed and produced for other artists. Born on the Isle of Man and with English roots, they lived their early years in Manchester before moving to Australia in the late 50s, where they began their musical journey. After an initial success in Australia with Spicks and Specks, they returned to the United Kingdom in 1967, at which point Robert Stigwood began to boost their career internationally. It is estimated that the total sales of the Bee Gees exceed 220 million records, placing them among the best-selling artists in history.
