The story behind
Dangerous, according to DoReSol
The song Dangerous by Roxette has an energy that invites movement from the very first moment. It was written by Per Gessle just before the duo's first tour in 1987, and was released as the fourth and final single from the album Look Sharp! in May 1989. This track became the group's third single to reach the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, peaking at number two. Its popularity extended to other markets, entering the top 10 in countries such as Australia and Canada, as well as six European nations. The music video accompanying Dangerous was filmed at the ruins of Borgholm Castle, mixing rehearsal footage with live performance shots of the group at that location in July 1989. In the United Kingdom and Ireland, Dangerous was released as a double A-side with Listen to Your Heart.
The recording of Dangerous took place in May 1988 at EMI Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. Producer Clarence Öfwerman was in charge of production, while the mixing involved Marie Fredriksson, Per Gessle, Clarence Öfwerman, and Alar Suurna. The recording engineers were Anders Herrlin and Alar Suurna. The album Look Sharp!, from which Dangerous is taken, was released on October 21, 1988. This record marked Roxette's international breakthrough, achieving platinum certifications in several territories and leading singles like The Look and Listen to Your Heart to reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100. The song's duration is approximately 3 minutes and 46 seconds.
