The story behind
cicatrices, according to DoReSol
Airbag Scars is one of those songs that doesn't sound like it was recorded in a studio, but rather like a moment captured live. The track has a raw feel, as if it were recorded in the middle of a rehearsal, with guitars that feel close and drums that don't aim for perfection, but groove. The main riff doesn't follow the common 4/4 time signature: it moves in a loop that stretches and contracts, giving it that hypnotic air that makes it engaging even without lyrics.
They recorded it in three different studios in Argentina —The Foot, The Little Saint and The Oracle— but the process was almost artisanal: the songs were born and finished in the same place, with no last-minute touch-ups. This is noticeable in the sound, fresh and unfiltered, as if the entire album were a diary of improvised sessions. The song lasts exactly three minutes and forty-eight seconds, just the right time for it not to drag on or feel too short, and that gives it a rhythm that invites you to listen to it again and again.
