Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, known artistically as Lady Gaga, was born in New York, United States, in 1986. Before achieving fame, she studied at the Convent of the Sacred Heart school and briefly attended the Tisch School of the Arts, part of New York University. She dropped out of her studies to dedicate herself fully to her music career, beginning her journey on the rock scene of Manhattan's Lower East Side. Towards the end of 2007, she signed with Streamline Records, and while working as a songwriter, her voice caught the attention of Akon, who encouraged her to sign with Kon Live Distribution. Her debut album, The Fame, released on August 19, 2008, by Interscope Records, marked her grand entrance into the industry. This record, categorized as electropop, synth-pop, and dance-pop, with influences from 1980s music, explored themes such as Gaga's interest in fame, love, sex, money, drugs, and sexual identity. It was primarily produced by RedOne, who also served as recording engineer, alongside Martin Kierszenbaum and Rob Fusari. The album was promoted through The Fame Ball Tour and various television appearances, and was later reissued as a deluxe edition alongside The Fame Monster on November 18, 2009.
