The story behind
«Around the World» is the second single from the album Californication, released by the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 1999. The song features a rap funk style, although the choruses are less intense. The drums and bass stand out, establishing the rhythm throughout the entire piece.
The music video was directed by Stéphane Sednaoui, who has also worked on other videos for the band such as "Breaking The Girl", "Scar Tissue" and "Give It Away". It shares similarities with R.E.M.'s video "Lotus", also directed by Sednaoui.
