The story behind
The song Aqui Se Habla En "Amor" (Love Is Spoken Here), with a duration of 2:00, is part of the album More Cole Español, released in 1962. This record was the third and last by Nat King Cole dedicated to Spanish-language music, following Cole Español (1958) and A Mis Amigos (1959). The recording took place in Mexico City, under the musical direction of Ralph Carmichael.
Nathaniel Adams Coles, known as Nat King Cole, was born in Montgomery in 1919 and passed away in Santa Monica in 1965. He distinguished himself as a jazz pianist and singer. His father, Edward Coles, was a butcher and a deacon in the Baptist Church. The family moved to Chicago when Nat was a child, and there his father became a minister. His mother, Perlina Adams, played the church organ and was Nat's only piano teacher. He absorbed influences from jazz, gospel music, and classical music. He grew up in the Bronzeville neighborhood, known for its nightlife and jazz clubs in the 20s, where he listened to artists like Louis Armstrong and Earl Hines. Inspired by Hines, Nat began his musical career in the mid-30s. He adopted the name Nat Cole, omitting the "s" from his surname. His older brother, Eddie, joined his band on his first recording in 1936. The band had local success in Chicago and performed frequently in clubs. It was in one of these venues that Nat received the nickname "King". Later, Cole participated in a tour as a pianist alongside Eubie Blake, and upon arriving in Long Beach, California, he decided to settle there.
