The story behind
Alla fermata del tram, according to DoReSol
The song Alla fermata del tram, with its duration of 3 minutes and 59 seconds, emerges from a crucial moment in the career of Lucio Dalla. This track belongs to the album *Il giorno aveva cinque teste*, released in April 1973, which marked the beginning of an important creative alliance. It was then that Dalla decided to change his way of working, leaving behind the usual collaboration with lyricists such as Sergio Bardotti and Gianfranco Baldazzi. Instead, he turned to an artistic partnership with the poet Roberto Roversi, a bond that would last for four years and shape three albums, including this one.
Lucio Dalla's music, born in Bologna in 1943, was characterized by constant exploration. With roots in jazz, where he worked as a clarinetist and saxophonist, his career, which spanned almost half a century, went through various stages. From his beginnings playing in a jazz group in Rome, with the sponsorship of Carlo Loffredo and alongside figures like Fabrizio Zampa and Massimo Catalano, to his evolution towards singer-songwriter music. His vocal style, influenced by experimentation and the search for unique, sometimes dissonant and rough sounds, recalled the energy of artists like James Brown and the improvisation of scat, a technique that Adriano Celentano also explored in his time. It was Gino Paoli who encouraged him to embark on his solo career.
