Ziggy Marley

Ziggy Marley, whose real name is David Nesta Marley, is a prominent reggae musician from Jamaica, known for his songwriting skills and distinctive musical style. As the eldest son of Bob Marley and Rita Marley, Ziggy grew up in an environment where music was a fundamental part of his life. From an early age, he was exposed to reggae influences through his father and the legendary Wailers, which shaped his musical career. His sound blends elements of reggae with touches of blues, R&B, and hip-hop, offering a fresh and authentic proposal.

In 1979, together with his siblings, he formed the band The Melody Makers, marking the beginning of his professional career. Their first single, "Children Playing in the Streets," written by his father, became a symbol of his social commitment, as the royalties were donated to the UN during the International Year of the Child. Throughout his career with the band, Ziggy and his siblings released several albums, including Conscious Party (1988), which earned them their first Grammy, and One Bright Day (1989), which continued to consolidate their success in the music scene.
