More about Pedro Guerra
Biography
His first solo album, Golosinas, arrived in 1995, recorded live, and contained the well-known song Contamíname. Artistic recognition was consolidated with Mararía, released in 1998. For this work, he received a nomination from the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Spain and won the award for Best Film Score at the Music Awards. In 1999, with Raíz, Guerra once again explored Canarian sonorities, also incorporating socially themed songs. Later, in 2001, he presented Ofrenda, an album that celebrated musical mestizaje, fusing influences from diverse origins. His music, over the years, has demonstrated a constant search for connection, both in his compositions and in his participation in solidarity events, such as the concert to raise funds for the victims of the volcanic eruption in La Palma in 2022.
