Pedro Guerra

When you immerse yourself in the music of Pedro Guerra, you encounter a sound that has deep roots in the folklore of the Canary Islands, but expands with a fascinating openness towards Latin American and North African rhythms. His proposal, beyond being a simple singer-songwriter, is an intelligent fusion that draws from different musical traditions, creating its own language. From a young age, his connection with the guitar was evident, and that passion led him to study at the Higher Conservatory of Music in Tenerife. At sixteen, he was already taking to local stages, sharing his talent at popular island festivals, sometimes alongside renowned figures like Luis Eduardo Aute and well-known Canarian groups.

A turning point in his career was the formation of Taller Canario de Canción in 1985, along with other musicians from the island. This project allowed him to explore a more collective and experimental vein, fusing Canarian folklore with a variety of styles ranging from rock and pop to reggae. The lyrics from this period often addressed social, environmental, and pacifist themes, reflecting a commitment to his surroundings and the world. After this phase, in 1993, Pedro Guerra made the move to Madrid to begin his solo career, a step that opened doors to collaborations with a long list of recognized artists in Spain.
