José Luis Perales is a singer-songwriter who has left a deep mark on romantic music in Spanish. Born in Castejón, Cuenca, on January 18, 1945, his work is characterized by lyrics that evoke love, nostalgia, and peace, becoming a benchmark in the singer-songwriter genre in Spain. Throughout his career, he has composed over 510 songs and released 27 musical productions, achieving sales figures that exceed 55 million records worldwide.

His path in music began at the age of 14, when he started composing his first melodies. However, it was not until 1968 that he dared to present his works to record labels, driven by his shyness and fear of failure. His life took a significant turn upon meeting producer Rafael Trabucchelli, who convinced him to record his own songs. This decision led him to create iconic themes, such as «Porque te vas», which was performed by Jeanette and became an international hit, selling millions of copies in several countries.
