Hanson

Hanson is an American trio that has left a significant mark on pop and rock since their origin in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in the 90s. Composed of brothers Isaac, Taylor, and Zac Hanson, their sound is characterized by catchy melodies and vocal harmonies that have resonated across generations. Their big moment arrived with the release of “MMMBop” in 1997, a single that became a global phenomenon and was part of their album Middle of Nowhere, which achieved multiple platinum certifications.

From their beginnings, the brothers showed an innate talent for music, playing at local fairs and family celebrations. Despite the challenges they faced, such as moving to different countries due to their father's work, they never stopped pursuing their musical dream. Their first major step as a professional band was in 1992, at the Mayfest Arts Festival in Tulsa. As they evolved, they began to experiment with different instruments, which led them to record two independent albums before achieving mainstream success.

More about Hanson

Biography

The meeting with their future manager, Christopher Sabec, was crucial. Despite initial rejections from several record labels, they were eventually signed by Mercury Records after a performance at a state fair. The album Middle of Nowhere, produced by the Dust Brothers, not only catapulted Hanson to fame but also allowed them to explore a cheerful and fresh sound that contrasted with the darker trends of the time. “MMMBop” became a pop anthem, reaching number one in multiple countries and solidifying their place in 90s music history.

Throughout their career, Hanson continued to evolve musically. After leaving Mercury Records in 2003, they founded their own label, 3CG Records, and released Underneath in 2004, which was a great success in the independent scene. With singles like “Penny & Me,” they demonstrated that their creativity and connection with the audience remained intact. Furthermore, their commitment to social causes, such as their collaboration with the African Children's Choir and the organization of charity walks, reflects their desire to make a positive impact on the community. With each new project, Hanson continues to show that their passion for music and their connection with fans are stronger than ever.
