Biography
Between 1986 and 1988, with Tre volte lacrime and Boxe, the band solidified its style. Tre volte lacrime is rawer, almost punk in its roughness, while Boxe introduces keyboards that lend it a more cinematic air. Here, the influence of lineup changes is already evident: Miro Sassolini took over vocals after Nicola Vannini left in 1984, and his deep voice became another hallmark of the group. What’s most striking, though, is how—despite the shifts—Fiumani maintained creative control. They weren’t a band of musicians following orders; they were a project where every member—from Daniele Trambusti on drums to Simone Giuliani on keyboards—brought something unique. Even in their lesser-known albums, like In perfetta solitudine (1990), there are moments where rawness blends with unexpected melancholy, as if each song were a sharp blow followed by a sigh.
