Oido Antena

The sound of Ripe Banana Skins, also known as RBS, was conceived in Asunción, Paraguay, from the union of two previous musical projects: "Toilete Flush" and "Fugu". They initially presented themselves under the name "Blackfly", but once they defined their style, they adopted that of Ripe Banana Skins. Since their beginnings in 2001, this ska punk band stood out for its live energy, touring Paraguay and extending its reach to Brazil and Argentina, often as opening acts for the renowned Paraguayan band Flou.

About the album

Oido Antena, according to DoReSol

In November 2003, RBS turned to recording their first album, which would bear the same name as the band. After its release in 2005, the album climbed the charts. Their presence at the Quilmes Rock festival, before a crowd of over 40,000 people, consolidated their projection. An important milestone occurred in 2009, when their music was selected by Itaú Cultural for the Rumos Música project, a compilation of 8 double CDs covering the scene of 5 Latin American countries. In this initiative, RBS, along with harpist Kike Pedersen, were the only representatives from Paraguay.

The career of Ripe Banana Skins also includes contributions to the soundtrack of the Argentine film Las buenas intenciones, a work for which they received recognition from the Argentine Film Critics Association in 2021.
