Alma de Cuero

The sound of Alma de Cuero, released in 2006, is the result of a proposal that fused folklore with rock, a distinctive mark of La Secreta since its beginnings. The band, formed in 2004 by Sergio "Banana" Pereira and Mike Cardozo, along with Ariel Burgos, explored this mix in their works. Cardozo stood out as the main author of most of the original compositions, although Pereira and Burgos also contributed to the writing.

About the album

Alma de Cuero, according to DoReSol

This album, released under the Kamikaze Records label, followed the line of their first material, Gratis es más rico, released independently in 2004. In Alma de Cuero, one can find songs that became benchmarks within Paraguayan rock. Although the complete album offers a particular sonic journey, tracks like Soldado del Divague or Agua que Cae had already paved the way in their previous work, showing the evolution of their style.

In 2005, La Secreta shared the stage with bands like Catupecu Machu and Árbol, a year before the release of Alma de Cuero. The band was active until 2012, and seven years later, in 2019, they reunited to perform at Cosquín Rock Paraguay.
