La storia dietro
Canário do reino, secondo DoReSol
In Canário do reino, the band Kid Abelha explores a sound that deviates from the conventional, presenting a piece of just under three minutes that invites introspection. The composition, by Carvalho and Zappata, immerses itself in a particular atmosphere, where the lead vocals intertwine with arrangements that suggest an almost mystical ambiance, as can be seen in other pieces from the same project. This track, included in the album Meio desligado, is part of a work that marked a turning point for the group.
The album Meio desligado, released in 1994 by Warner Music, represented Kid Abelha's first acoustic work and brought with it a renewal in their audience. It achieved a notable sales figure, exceeding 600,000 copies and earning a double platinum record, making it the band's most successful album up to that point. While Meio desligado is remembered for the success of Solidão Que Nada, Canário do reino contributes to the sonic identity of this project, which, in addition to this piece, included reinterpretations of songs like Deus (Apareça na Televisão) and other songs with a marked romantic tone, supported by the prominent use of the acoustic guitar and piano. The band, originally formed as Kid Abelha e os Abóboras Selvagens and with a career dating back to the 1980s, is made up of Paula Toller, George Israel, and Bruno Fortunato.
