The story behind
Yira-Yira, according to DoReSol
The song Yira-Yira by Los Piojos is a reinterpretation that stands out for its fusion of styles and its connection with the roots of Argentine rock. This track, which is part of their debut album Chactuchac, features a sound that evokes both marginality and everyday life, using the train as a metaphor for movement and transformation. Los Piojos' version incorporates elements of rock, but also feels the influence of more traditional rhythms, creating a unique atmosphere that resonates with urban culture.
The recording of Chactuchac took place between June and August 1992 at Estudios Del Cielito, under the production of Adrián Rivarola. The band decided to capture in this album everything they had composed and played live since their formation in 1988. Thus, Yira-Yira is not just a musical piece, but a reflection of Los Piojos' evolution in their early years, capturing the essence of their style and the energy of their live performances. In 2007, the album was reissued by El Farolito Discos, allowing new generations to discover this gem of Argentine rock.
