Live recordings, such as La mandrágora (1981) with Javier Krahe and Alberto Pérez, or Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa en directo (1986) with the band Viceversa, are testaments to his connection with the audience and his way of interpreting his songs. After a health incident in 2001, which led him to a period of reflection and depression, Sabina returned with albums such as Dímelo en la calle (2002) and Alivio de luto (2005), culminating his solo career with Vinagre y rosas in 2009, a work that achieved notable commercial success.
