The story behind

The song Viridiana, with its duration of 2 minutes and 53 seconds, is presented as a piece that invites reflection, wrapped in the particular way of storytelling of Joaquín Sabina. His work, recognized in the Spanish-speaking world, often draws on personal experiences and sharp observations about life, weaving lyrics that resonate with a depth that goes beyond the superficial.

Born in Úbeda, Jaén, in 1949, Joaquín Ramón Martínez Sabina, known simply as Joaquín Sabina, has built a solid career as a singer-songwriter and poet. His discography includes fourteen studio albums, four live recordings, and three compilations, in addition to numerous collaborations with other artists. He has shared the stage and studio with figures such as Javier Krahe and Alberto Pérez in La mandrágora (1981), and with the band Viceversa in 1986. Later, he joined Joan Manuel Serrat to release La orquesta del Titanic in 2012. His literary facet has also been prolific, with nine books that compile his lyrics and poems, some previously published in the magazine Interviú. After a cerebral infarction in 2001, which led him to a period of reflection and depression, Sabina returned to the stage with Dímelo en la calle (2002) and later with Alivio de luto (2005). His latest solo work to date, Vinagre y rosas, released in 2009, achieved notable sales figures.
