The story behind
Search, Find, according to DoReSol
The sound of *Search, Find* is built on distinctive vocal layers, a trademark of the Bee Gees. The song's duration, 4:16, allows for a development that explores these textures. The production involved the Bee Gees themselves, along with Albhy Galuten and Karl Richardson, who also handled the recording engineering alongside John Blanche and Dennis Hetzendorfer.
The brothers Barry, Robin, and Maurice Gibb, founders of the group in 1958, developed a unique vocal style. Robin's particular vibrato defined their early hits, while Barry's falsetto became their signature sound later on. The Bee Gees not only wrote their own songs but also created and produced hits for other artists. Born on the Isle of Man and with English roots, the brothers lived in Chorlton, Manchester, before moving to Australia in the late 50s. It was there that they began their musical career, achieving their first hit with Spicks and Specks. In 1967, they returned to the United Kingdom, where Robert Stigwood began to boost their international projection.
