The story behind

The extended version of Paisley Park, which lasts almost seven minutes, immerses us in a particular sound universe. This track, beyond being just another piece in Prince's discography, is a window into his ability to create enveloping atmospheres and explore musical textures. The way it develops, with its layers and its evolution throughout the song, invites attentive listening, almost as if we were walking through the halls of that conceptual place that gives it its name. It is an example of how Prince, an artist born in Minneapolis in 1958 and who passed away in Chanhassen in 2016, could build soundscapes that invited reflection and discovery, often moving away from conventional structures.

Prince Rogers Nelson, known artistically as Prince, was a key figure in the music of the 1980s, considered one of the creators of the distinctive "Minneapolis sound." This style began to take shape from his third album, Dirty Mind, and was consolidated in Controversy in 1981, even influencing the debut album of The Time. His popularity exploded with Purple Rain in 1984, a work that earned him a Grammy and an Oscar for the soundtrack, and which included global hits like When Doves Cry and Let's Go Crazy. Throughout his career, Prince explored diverse genres, from rock and soul to funk and new wave, leaving an indelible mark on the music industry in the United States and worldwide.
