The story behind
Morning Glory, according to DoReSol
The song Morning Glory by Jamiroquai, although only released as a promotional single in the United States, became a highly valued piece by its followers, sharing a similar fate to If I Like It, I Do It. With a duration of 6 minutes and 24 seconds, this piece is a good example of the sound that consolidated the band. The context of this song is framed within the preparation of Jamiroquai's second album, titled The Return of the Space Cowboy. Following the success of their debut album, Emergency on Planet Earth, and the energy of their tours, the recording sessions for this new work began in the first half of 1994.
Jay Kay, the leader and main songwriter, was also in charge of the arrangements and production of Morning Glory. The album The Return of the Space Cowboy, released in 1994, reached number 2 on the UK Albums Chart and has sold approximately 4,500,000 copies worldwide, consolidating Jamiroquai as a benchmark of international funk and acid jazz.
