The story behind
Khashoggi’s Ship, according to DoReSol
The song *Khashoggi’s Ship* is one of those pieces that, although not the most well-known in Queen's repertoire, holds interesting details for anyone approaching it with the intention of understanding it. Its duration is 2:48, a concise format that goes straight to the point. The recording featured the participation of several engineers, including Andrew Bradfield, John Brough, Angelique Cooper, Claude Frider, Andy Mason, David Richards, and Justin Shirley-Smith, with production by the band itself alongside David Richards.
This song was conceived in the context of the recording of the album *The Miracle*, released in May 1989. The recording process for this album, which was originally going to be called *The Invisible Men*, began in January 1988 and lasted for an entire year. It was a particular period for the band, marked by personal circumstances involving Brian May and Freddie Mercury. Despite these challenges, the album managed to reach the top position in charts of countries such as the United Kingdom, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland, and it ranked 24th on the Billboard Top Pop Albums in the United States. *The Miracle* was the last album by Queen to feature a photograph of all four members on its cover.
