The story behind
Juego de seducción, according to DoReSol
The song Juego de seducción stands out for its intimate and personal story, which originates from the relationship between Gustavo Cerati and a young woman named Anastasia Chomyszyn, known as Tashi. During a concert, Gustavo was drawn to Tashi’s unique style, which evoked the aesthetics of bands like The Cure. He later invited her to be the band’s stylist, marking the beginning of a relationship characterized by creativity and role-playing. This dynamic became the inspiration for the song’s lyrics, which explore themes of seduction and fantasy.
Musically, Juego de seducción is featured on Soda Stereo’s second album, Nada personal, released in November 1985. The song, which is the third single from the album, includes a distinctive guitar riff in which Cerati uses a B chord, leaving the top two strings open and varying the bass notes between B, F#, A, and E. This technique gives the sound a unique character, adding to the seductive atmosphere evoked by the lyrics. The relationship between Gustavo and Tashi ended two years later, but their story is immortalized in this piece, which continues to resonate in the band’s repertoire, regarded as one of the most influential in Iberoamerica.
