The story behind
I’m Weeping, according to DoReSol
The song I’m Weeping, with its 2:45 runtime, is included on the Bee Gees' eighth studio album, titled 2 Years On, released in 1970. This work marked an important moment for the group, as it signified the return of Robin Gibb after a period of disagreements and a temporary separation that followed the album Odessa. On the recording of 2 Years On, drummer Geoff Bridgford was incorporated for the first time, and he remained a member until 1972, although his image did not appear on the album cover. The production of I’m Weeping featured the collaboration of Barry Gibb, Maurice Gibb, and Robin Gibb, in addition to Robert Stigwood.
Sound engineering was handled by Lew Hahn and John Stewart. The Gibb brothers, who founded the group in 1958, were known for their distinctive vocal harmonies and for writing and producing their own hits, as well as collaborating on songs for other artists. Born on the Isle of Man and raised in England and then Australia, the Bee Gees achieved notable success in the late sixties and early seventies, and then again in the disco era of the late seventies.
