The melody Felicidad has a duration of 2 minutes and 9 seconds. The composer, Armando Manzanero Canché, born in Ticul, Yucatán, in 1935, is a prolific figure in music, with a legacy of over 400 compositions. Of these, a considerable number, more than 50, achieved international recognition, including songs such as Somos novios and Esta tarde vi llover. His career includes the recording of over 30 albums and the creation of soundtracks for various film productions.
The musical training of Manzanero began at an early age, at 8 years old, at the School of Fine Arts in his hometown, before continuing his studies in Mexico City. His first composition, titled Nunca en el mundo, dates back to 1950. The following year, he began his professional career as a pianist, and six years later, he took on the role of musical director for the Mexican subsidiary of the record company CBS International. In 1962, he participated in the Song Festival in Mexico, ranking fifth. Two years later, in 1965, he won first place at the Song Festival in Miami with his song Cuando estoy contigo. A year later, in 1966, the song No reached the top positions on the radio thanks to the performance by Carlos Lico. In 1967, driven by an executive from RCA Víctor, he recorded his first album, Mi primera grabación, where his signature romantic style was already evident. In 1970, the American singer-songwriter Sid Wayne, known for writing for Elvis Presley, released a version of his song Somos novios.
