The story behind

The song *Es mentira* has a duration of 4 minutes and 23 seconds. The Spanish singer-songwriter and poet Joaquín Sabina, born in Úbeda, Jaén, in 1949, is known for his work in Spanish-speaking countries. Throughout his career, he has released fourteen studio albums, four live recordings, and three compilations. Additionally, he has collaborated with various artists, performing duets and participating in other creative facets. His talent also extends to composing for other performers, such as Ana Belén or Miguel Ríos.

His live works include recordings of performances, whether solo or accompanied. Among them are *La mandrágora* (1981), with Javier Krahe and Alberto Pérez; *Joaquín Sabina y Viceversa en directo* (1986), with the band Viceversa; *Nos sobran los motivos* (2000); *Dos pájaros de un tiro* (2007); and *La orquesta del Titanic* (2012), in collaboration with Joan Manuel Serrat. In the literary field, he has published nine books that compile song lyrics or poems, some of which previously appeared in the weekly magazine *Interviú*. In 2001, Sabina experienced a mild stroke that put his life at risk, but he recovered in a few weeks without physical sequelae. This event, however, marked a change in his perspective and plunged him into a deep depression, leading him to a temporary retirement from the stage. After overcoming this period, he released *Dímelo en la calle* (2002), followed by his eighteenth album, *Alivio de luto* (2005). His latest solo album to date is *Vinagre y rosas*, released on November 17, 2009, which achieved sales of 200,000 copies in its first month.
