The story behind

Ebony Eyes, according to DoReSol

The song *Ebony Eyes* has a duration of 4:10 and was arranged and produced by Stevie Wonder himself. It is included in the album *Songs in the Key of Life*, released on September 28, 1976, by Tamla Records, a division of Motown. This album is considered the culmination of a creative period for Wonder that began in 1972 with *Music of My Mind*.

By 1974, Stevie Wonder was already a prominent figure in popular music. His previous albums, such as *Music of My Mind* (1972), *Talking Book* (1972), *Innervisions* (1973), and *Fulfillingness' First Finale* (1974), had been critically acclaimed. However, in March 1975, Wonder seriously considered leaving the music industry and moving to Ghana to help children with disabilities. Preparations for a farewell concert had even begun, but Wonder changed his mind. Born Stevland Hardaway Judkins in Saginaw, Michigan, on May 13, 1950, and known artistically as Stevie Wonder, he is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. Blind since childhood, he has become one of Motown's most successful artists, with over 100 million records sold and 22 Grammy Awards.
