In When the Boiling Water, Milo J explores a fusion of rhythms ranging from trap and electronic music to Argentine folklore and tango. The piece, with a duration of 2:56, is part of his third studio album, Life Was Shorter, released on September 25, 2025. This work was recorded primarily in studios in Buenos Aires, with some additional sessions in Santiago del Estero. This album features a notable list of collaborators, including Trueno, Soledad, Paula Prieto, Akriila, Radamel, Cuti, and Roberto Carabajal, in addition to the participation of Silvio Rodríguez. A particular detail is the inclusion of an unreleased recording of Mercedes Sosa on the song Jangadero. The vocal arrangements for several songs were done by Agarrate Catalina, adding another layer to the project's sonic complexity.
