The story behind

Come And Get It, according to DoReSol

When you encounter Come and Get It, you'll notice its initial energy grabs you immediately. The track, with a duration of 2:22, was conceived by Paul McCartney and became Badfinger's first major hit. Originally, this song was written for the soundtrack of the 1969 film, The Magic Christian, and its production was also handled by McCartney, giving it a distinctive sound that resonated strongly with the audience.

The story of Badfinger is interesting. They emerged from an earlier group called The Iveys, formed in Swansea, Wales, in the early 1960s by Pete Ham, Ron Griffiths, and David "Dai" Jenkins. By 1968, Mike Gibbins and Tom Evans were already part of the lineup. In the same year, they signed with The Beatles' Apple label, still under the name The Iveys. It was in 1969 that they adopted the name Badfinger. Between 1970 and 1971, they achieved four consecutive hits: Come and Get It, No Matter What, Day After Day, and Baby Blue. It's worth mentioning that the composition Without You, by Ham and Evans, became a number one hit on Billboard for Harry Nilsson. In 1970, the band added American businessman Stan Polley to their team. Over the next five years, they recorded albums for Apple and toured, but were affected by the dissolution of Apple Records. Upon signing with Warner Bros., Polley's finances led to a lawsuit. The withdrawal of the 1974 album, Wish You Were Here, shortly after its release, impacted the group's income.
