The story behind
When Luis Enrique embarked on the recording of Ciclos, his seventeenth studio work, he sought to reconnect with a sound that had marked him. The album, released on May 19, 2009, under the label Top Stop Music, marked a milestone by being the first to reach the top of the Billboard Tropical Albums chart since Una Historia Diferente, released in 1991. The song Cambia, with a duration of 5 minutes, became a reflection of this sonic quest.
This project, titled Ciclos (or Cycles in English), not only signified a return to the top positions on tropical music charts, but also resonated within the music industry. The album received a total of five nominations at the 2009 Latin Grammy Awards, and furthermore, it was recognized with awards at the 2010 Grammy Awards.
