The story behind
Bite the Hand That Feeds, according to DoReSol
When you dive into Bite the Hand That Feeds, you come across a piece that, while lasting 4:30, condenses a particular energy. This song was part of The Secret of Association, the second studio album by English singer Paul Young, released in 1985. The album, in general, followed a similar line to its predecessor, No Parlez, blending known covers with original compositions. In this case, the collaboration between Young and keyboardist Ian Kewley had greater weight, with five tracks born from that creative duo.
The album The Secret of Association received a good reception, reaching the number one spot on the UK album charts and entering the Top 20 in the United States. It was certified Double Platinum in the UK for selling 600,000 copies, and Gold in the United States, surpassing 500,000 units sold. Among the tracks that resonated from this work are covers of "Everytime You Go Away", originally by Hall & Oates from 1980, as well as "I'm Gonna Tear Your Playhouse Down", "Everything Must Change", and "Tomb of Memories".
