The story behind

When Enrique Iglesias came across the melody of Bailando, his initial reaction was not one of enthusiasm. Composer Descemer Bueno presented it to him, and the Spanish singer was not entirely convinced at first. However, after recording it, his perspective changed completely, making it one of his favorites from the album Sex and Love. This song, released in 2014, is distinguished by its infectious energy and its fusion of Latin rhythms, incorporating elements of flamenco and dance. The original Spanish version featured the collaboration of Cuban artists Descemer Bueno and Gente de Zona, and quickly became a phenomenon.

The impact of Bailando was massive. It remained at the top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart for 41 weeks, an impressive achievement. In addition to the original version, other adaptations were produced for different markets: one in Spanglish with Sean Paul, and two in Portuguese, one for Brazil with Luan Santana and another for Portugal with Mickael Carreira. The recording of the song spanned between 2012 and 2013, and it was produced by Carlos Paucar. The Spanish version had the honor of being the main theme of the telenovela Reina de Corazones. In terms of global sales, Bailando ranked as the tenth best-selling song of 2014, exceeding 8 million units between sales and streams. The music video, filmed in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and Havana, Cuba, under the direction of Alejandro Perez, also broke records. The Spanish version surpassed 3.7 billion views on YouTube, becoming the first Spanish-language video to reach one billion views and Enrique Iglesias's most-watched video to date.
