YSY A

Since he set foot in the Argentine neighborhood of Villa Crespo, in Buenos Aires, Alejo Nahuel Acosta, known in the music world as YSY A, showed a creative restlessness that led him to explore diverse paths. His connection with music began early, influenced by the sounds his parents listened to, who emigrated from Tacuarembó, Uruguay. Although his first approaches were to tango, urban music, especially hip hop, captured his attention decisively. Artists like Lil Wayne, albeit in another language, and Spanish rap pioneers like Cartel de Santa, along with reggaeton figures like Don Omar and Daddy Yankee, shaped his ear. This sonic foundation, combined with his time at the cultural center "El Eternauta," where he learned beatboxing and improvising rhymes, laid the groundwork for what was to come.

The spark that ignited his career, and marked a before and after in the Argentine scene, was the creation of "El Quinto Escalón." At just 13 years old, and with Muphasa MC, he conceived this freestyle competition that, in 2016, exploded in popularity, becoming a breeding ground for many trap talents in Buenos Aires. After the grand final of this event, which took place at the Microestadio Malvinas Argentinas in November 2017, YSY A officially launched his musical career. Shortly after, in January 2018, his participation in the supergroup Modo diablo alongside Duki and Neo Pistea was formalized. This project was key to the diffusion of trap in Argentina, driven by tracks like "Quavo" and "Trap N' Export."
