Biography
Throughout his career, Puente recorded an impressive number of albums, totaling 198 between his own productions and collaborations. His talent led him to share stages and studios with great names in music, such as Astor Piazzolla, Dizzy Gillespie, and Duke Ellington. One of his most emblematic albums is *Dance Mania*, released in 1958, which captured the essence of Cuban music and brought it to a wider audience. In recognition of his legacy, since 1990 he has had a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In 1992, he received the James Smithson Bicentennial Award, and later, his recording *Mambo Birdland* earned him a Grammy Award for Best Traditional Tropical Latin Album at the first Latin Grammy Awards.
