Rocío Jurado

From her beginnings, Rocío Jurado demonstrated a deep connection with the roots of Spanish music, specializing in Andalusian copla and flamenco. However, her talent transcended these genres, also exploring romantic ballads and melodic songs, which allowed her to connect with audiences both in Spain and in America. Her powerful voice and stage presence made her a prominent figure, capable of revitalizing copla, a genre that at the time was beginning to lose ground.

Her artistic path received a significant boost in 1969 with the show Pasodoble at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. It was during this stage that she began to achieve success with songs like Un rojo Clavel and Tengo Miedo. At the same time, cinema also called for her, making her debut on the big screen with the film Los Guerrilleros and participating in other movies. Her versatility also led her to theater with works such as Cancionera and to television, where she performed a version of Lola la Piconera.
