Miel San Marcos

From Guatemala, the music of Miel San Marcos, led by brothers Josh, Luis, and Sammy Morales, has resonated strongly. The band's name, which comes from Ministerios Elim and the department of San Marcos, has been associated with a sound that captures the energy of live performances. Most of their discographic works capture that atmosphere, recorded directly in the heat of the moment, with the exception of Tu Habitación, their first album made entirely in the studio.

The musical journey of Miel San Marcos began in 1998 with Dios es Bueno. From then on, they have released a series of albums that have marked their trajectory. In 2000, Viene por mí arrived, followed by He ahí el Cordero in 2001 and Exáltate Señor in 2002. 2003 brought Digno es Él, and in 2005 they continued with Eres mi Dios, before releasing Dios es Real in 2007. A special phase was experienced in 2010 with Celebremos Miel San Marcos Kids and the album Avivamiento.

Biography

A significant turning point was the recording of Proezas in 2012, an album that captured the energy of the Anaheim Convention Center Arena in California, United States. In this production, they had the participation of prominent figures in Christian music such as Coalo Zamorano, Juan Carlos Alvarado, and Fernel Monroy, among others. Later, in 2015, they held the event “Unidos por San Marcos” at the Estadio Cementos Progreso in Guatemala, in front of more than 17,000 people, to record Como en el Cielo. This album featured collaborations with artists like Christine and Julio Melgar, and was recognized as Best Spanish Album at the GMA Dove Awards that year. They closed that phase with Tu Habitación in 2016, an album that revisits known songs in a studio format.

The band continued to expand its reach, and in 2017 they recorded Pentecostés (En Vivo) at Madison Square Garden in New York, United States. This ambitious project, which included 21 songs and the participation of Danilo Montero and other artists, earned them their first Latin Grammy Awards nomination in the Best Christian Music Album in Spanish category. Their influence extended to the translation of international band singles into Spanish, collaborating with artists such as For King & Country and Elevation Worship. In 2020, they released Adorando En Casa and Adorando En Casa (Amigos Invitados), bringing together musicians like Evan Craft and Daniel Calveti. The year 2021 concluded with the single “Dios es más grande” alongside Danny Gokey, paving the way for their next production.
