Metro Boomin

When you immerse yourself in the music of Metro Boomin, you are exploring the sound of someone who, from a very young age, understood how to build unique atmospheres in hip-hop. Born Leland Tyler Wayne in St. Louis, Missouri, his path to production began in high school, when at 13, with a laptop and a production program, he started shaping his first beats. The interesting thing is that his initial intention was to rap, and he created musical bases for his own rhymes. However, he soon realized that his talent for assembling soundscapes was what truly defined him, and he dedicated all his energy to perfecting that skill. By the time he was in high school, he was already producing several beats a day, actively seeking to connect with more established artists through online platforms.

The initial momentum for Metro Boomin came in the mid-2010s, solidifying his name with key collaborations that resonated in the rap scene, especially with artists from Atlanta. Tracks like ILoveMakonnen's 2014 hit *Tuesday* and the 2015 single *Jumpman* by Future and Drake marked a turning point. From then on, his ability to create hits became undeniable, accumulating more than a dozen tracks that reached the top 20. His work became synonymous with a distinctive sound, leading to him being recognized by Forbes in 2017 as "one of the most sought-after hitmakers in the world" and by Stereogum as "one of the most original, vivid, and important voices in rap right now."
