La Rondalla de Saltillo

When we think of La Rondalla de Saltillo, we encounter a sound born from tradition and dedication. From its beginnings, the group focused on polishing its repertoire, dedicating time to rehearsing and offering serenades. It was in [1967], during the ESAAN festivities, that they had their first formal performance. On that occasion, they performed a large part of their songs for the then head of the Department of Agrarian Affairs, Ing. Norberto Aguirre Palancares. Images from that era show a group in formation, with instruments that had not yet unified their sound and costumes that did not always fit perfectly. Under the direction of Pepe Abedrop, the Rondalla went beyond the institution's limits, performing at a festival organized by the students of the Benemérita Escuela Normal de Coahuila.

The energy of La Rondalla resonated strongly in the Normal's auditorium, receiving a warm response from the audience. At one point during the presentation, an unexpected incident occurred when the lights went out. However, the group continued to perform their music, which deeply impressed the attendees, who rewarded their professionalism with prolonged applause. This event marked a turning point, consolidating the projection of what we now know as La Rondalla de Saltillo of the Universidad Autónoma Agraria Antonio Narro. The constant renewal of its members has become a key to maintaining the group's vitality and freshness over time.
