However, it was in 1967 when he made a significant turn by becoming part of The First Edition, with whom he achieved his first major success with "Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In)," a psychedelic rock song that reached number five on the Billboard chart. Over time, the band adopted a more country sound, especially after the success of "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town." The group disbanded between 1975 and 1976, leading Rogers to launch a successful solo career.During his solo career, Kenny Rogers collaborated with artists such as Dottie West, Dolly Parton, and Sheena Easton, as well as working on compositions with Lionel Richie.
