Grupo Menos é Mais

Less is More is not just a pagode group: it is the band that gave the genre an unexpected twist from the heart of Brasília. Their sound is not built with traditional formulas, but with that pulse that comes from the improvised samba circles in bars and parties where the percussion beats louder than the microphones. The five members — Duzão on vocals, Gustavo Goes on repique, Paulinho Félix on pandeiro, Ramon Alvarenga on surdo, and Jorge Farias on tantã — found in the simplicity of their instruments the key to connect with the audience. They don’t aim to sound like anyone else: they simply sound like themselves, and that’s where their magic lies.

Everything started in 2016, when three musicians — Gustavo, Jorge, and Pietro — decided to take their passion for samba beyond spontaneous gatherings. They found a space at Taguaparque, a bar in Taguatinga where they played weekly, and soon after added Ramon. But it was in 2018, with the arrival of Duzão, that the voice that defined their identity joined the group. That same year, they began recording their performances and uploading the videos to YouTube. The footage of their samba circles at Buteco da Boa and Clube Ases — with over 50,000 views in weeks — showed that pagode could grow without relying on traditional circuits. At the same time, they created the party To Fazendo Amor com 8 Pessoas, a monthly event at Calaf that drew hundreds of people each time, solidifying their place in the local scene.

Biography

The 2020 pandemic pushed them to explore another format: lives. With no live audience, they brought their energy to social media, and that’s when something unexpected happened. Figures like Neymar and Thiago Silva shared their streams, instantly multiplying their reach. By 2021, they were no longer just a bar band: they released Plano Piloto, their first album of original songs, and the track Lapada Dela — featuring Matheus Fernandes — climbed the charts in Spotify across the country. But the definitive leap came in 2025 with Molho, an album recorded in different Brazilian cities that proved their ability to reinvent themselves. The song P do Pecado, made with Simone Mendes in Campina Grande, not only broke records on Spotify Brasil — surpassing even Sorry by Justin Bieber — but also proved that pagode can be universal without losing its essence. Today, Menos é Mais is not a passing trend: it is a phenomenon that shows how authenticity, played with the hands and sung from the heart, can conquer more than just a stage.
