Ella Langley

The sound of Ella Langley blends tradition with a fresh approach that isn’t afraid to mix influences. Her music has that solid acoustic foundation, with guitars that evoke jam sessions on Southern porches, yet a rhythm that hooks listeners beyond the genre. On Hungover, her debut studio album, that balance shines in tracks like You Look Like You Love Me —a duet with Riley Green that feels like a conversation between friends, with melodies that stick after the first listen—. What’s most striking is how she conveys that sense of authenticity, as if every note were recorded live amid laughter and glasses of iced tea.

Her career took a turn in 2019 when she left Alabama to settle in Nashville. There, instead of chasing quick fame, she dove into the *writers' rounds* circuit and connected with independent producers. The pandemic forced her to reinvent herself: she went from playing bars to filling screens with live streams, and that digital leap proved pivotal. By 2021, she had signed with Sony Music Publishing Nashville, but what truly stood out was her ability to write for others. She co-wrote five tracks on Come Get Your Wife by Elle King and on Make Me Wanna Smoke by Runaway June, proving her pen works just as well in the studio as on stage.

More about Ella Langley

Biography

In 2023, the label realized what many already suspected: Langley wasn’t just a promising songwriter, but an artist with her own voice. Her debut at the Grand Ole Opry in February of that year —just a week before signing with Sony Music Nashville and Columbia Records— was the starting gun. Then came Excuse the Mess, her first EP, and the collaboration with Kameron Marlowe on Strangers, which became the lead single of her album. But the real breakthrough arrived with Hungover in 2024: You Look Like You Love Me entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 53, and Weren’t for the Wind became another instant anthem. Now, with Dandelion on the horizon —and Choosin’ Texas already topping the Billboard Hot 100— Langley is proving her music resonates far beyond country, transcending borders.
