Edú Lobo

From Rio de Janeiro, in 1943, Edu Lobo came into the world, a Brazilian musician whose guitar and voice have been woven into the fabric of his country's music. He is considered part of that second wave of Bossa Nova, a movement that defined a distinctive sound. His musical journey began with the accordion, but the guitar soon captured his attention, an instrument that would become his primary voice.

Throughout his career, Edu Lobo has collaborated on compositions with fundamental names in Brazilian music. Together with Chico Buarque, he brought songs like Choro Bandido, A história de Lily Braun, and Beatriz to life. He also joined Gianfrancesco Guarnieri to create Arena Conta Zumbi, a show that fused music, ballet, opera, and theater. Another important milestone was O Grande Circo Místico, inspired by a poem by Jorge de Lima, which after its premiere in 1983, became a phenomenon, touring Brazil and even reaching Lisbon.
