DragonForce

DragonForce is a British power metal band from London, known for their lightning-fast guitar solos and fantasy-inspired lyrics, as well as a sound that evokes the nostalgia of retro video games. They describe their musical style as "extreme power metal," reflecting their bold and technical approach to composition. The current lineup includes guitarists and founding members Herman Li and Sam Totman, alongside vocalists Marc Hudson and Alissa White-Gluz, drummer Gee Anzalone, and bassist Alicia Vigil. Throughout their career, they have experienced several lineup changes, notably featuring former members such as vocalist ZP Theart and keyboardist Vadim Pruzhanov. The band formed in 1999 under the name DragonHeart, but in 2002 changed their name to DragonForce due to another band sharing the same name.

Their first major success came with the album Valley of the Damned (2003), which includes the titular track, one of their most recognized songs and a staple in their live performances. This album helped them gain notoriety in the UK’s independent power metal scene. In 2005, they released Inhuman Rampage, which not only marked a milestone in their career but also introduced them to an international audience thanks to their single "Through the Fire and Flames," which became a phenomenon after being featured in the video game Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. The album Ultra Beatdown (2008) continued their rise, highlighted by the single "Heroes of Our Time," which was nominated for a Grammy in 2009.
