Dolly Parton

Dolly Rebecca Parton, born on January 19, 1946 in Sevierville, Tennessee, is a multifaceted American artist who has stood out as a singer, songwriter, actress, producer, writer, philanthropist, and businesswoman. She is widely recognized as one of the most influential figures in country music, and her innovative approach to this genre has been notable for over fifty years, especially during the 1970s and 1980s. Her distinctive voice earned her the nickname «the Queen of Country».Although she had already released an album titled Hello, I'm Dolly and several singles, Parton gained fame in late 1967 by joining Porter Wagoner's television show.

Alongside him, she formed one of the most successful songwriting duos of the 20th century, both commercially and critically, in the history of country. The breakup of the duo in 1976 allowed Parton to consolidate her solo career, releasing acclaimed albums such as Jolene and All I Can Do, and iconic songs such as «Jolene» and «I Will Always Love You», the latter gaining worldwide fame when it was performed by Whitney Houston two decades later. In 1977, Parton achieved her first major success in country pop with the single «Here You Come Again», from the album of the same name, which sold over a million copies, a feat she would repeat with several of her later productions.
