Danilo Montero

Danilo Montero was born in San José, Costa Rica, on November 1, 1962, but his story with Christian music began much earlier than when he recorded his first album. He was 9 years old when someone took him to La Gran Campaña de Sanidad Divina — which later became the Church Oasis — and he became hooked there. So hooked that he ended up directing the choir in that same church, in Costa Rica, in 1973.Over the years, this became something bigger: a praise ministry called Sígueme, where Montero works as the main director. He has also been giving talks on praise for more than eight years, and in addition to singing and composing, he wrote books like El abrazo del Padre and Generación de adoradores.

To date, he has recorded 18 albums. In 2006, he married Gloriana Díaz in San José, and the couple moved to Houston, Texas, the following year to join the pastoral team of the Iglesia Lakewood. It was there that their daughter Victoria was born on December 23, 2010. Since June 2012, Houston has been his permanent base: from there, he leads the Hispanic ministry of Lakewood as general pastor, and goes on tour for concerts and talks. The peak of his discography came in 2014, when La Carta Perfecta won the Latin Grammy for Best Spanish Christian Album. The same album received a nomination for Spanish Album of the Year at the GMA Dove Awards.
