Christopher Alvin Stapleton, born on April 15, 1978 in Lexington, Kentucky, is known artistically as Chris Stapleton. This American has stood out as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. He has gained recognition as a songwriter with six songs that reached number one. Among them are «Never Wanted Nothing More», which stayed at the top for five weeks and was performed by Kenny Chesney, «Love's Gonna Make It Alright» recorded by George Strait, and «Come Back Song» performed by Darius Rucker.Stapleton has written over 150 songs, mainly of blues, which have been included in albums by artists such as Adele, Luke Bryan, Tim McGraw, Brad Paisley, Justin Timberlake, Dierks Bentley, Taylor Swift, and Ed Sheeran.

Additionally, he has collaborated in songwriting with musicians such as Vince Gill, Peter Frampton, and Sheryl Crow.Between 2008 and 2010, Stapleton was the lead vocalist of the bluegrass band The SteelDrivers. Morgane had a recording contract with Arista Nashville. The couple met while working in nearby editorial offices. Together they have five children and live in Nashville.On April 28, 2019, Stapleton made a cameo appearance in the episode «The Long Night» of the television series Game of Thrones.
