HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

The third album by Billie Eilish, Hit Me Hard and Soft, arrived in May 2024 with a sound that blends alternative pop and bedroom pop, that intimate style that already defined her but now with more organic layers. They recorded it alongside her brother Finneas in borrowed studios, where the creative process felt closer to a rehearsal session than a closed production. The result is an album that breathes in every track, with whispered vocals that contrast with pounding rhythmic bases, as if the record had been born from a constant dialogue between two siblings in a small room.

About the album

HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, according to DoReSol

Out of the ten tracks, LUNCH and BIRDS OF A FEATHER stood out quickly: the former as the lead single, the latter as the song that stuck hard on radios and platforms, reaching second place on the Billboard Hot 100. But where the album truly shines is in details like WILDFLOWER, which not only played everywhere but also ended up winning the Song of the Year award at the Grammys in 2025. That said, not everything was commercial success: the album debuted in second place on the Billboard 200, though with the particularity that each of its songs entered the Hot 100, something that rarely happens.

The tour that followed, Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour, kicked off in September 2024 and closed a year later in November 2025. The live finale was captured in a documentary filmed in Manchester, set to premiere in May 2026. Meanwhile, the album had already amassed seven Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, cementing Eilish and Finneas as a duo that not only defines current pop but reinvents it from the fringes.
